MOLTISOLITUDE

10.2003
pavilion presented at the DEEP INSIDE exhibit (theme: Intimacy) in Florence, October 2003

We plunge ourselves in the crowd, people bumping into us, pushing us; they mill around us, indiscriminately. The wall of people surrounding us is the wall against which our confused identities bounce. We are enclosed by the walls of our homes and the outside hangs over us and seeps into our shell. The interior space is part of a communication that deprives us of our intimacy. The threshold between inside and outside, between public and private is dissolving. Intimacy is a state of mind, an interior journey of ever increasing exclusion and estrangement from others. We leave the crowd behind and one only faint image, our own, walks towards us. We move in bewilderment inside this new dimension we just conquered: the space of separation is a garden to take care of and to discover, our eyes shut...
